Cynthia Hill is a Durham, NC-based filmmaker known for crafting story-driven and visually-rich documentaries that take a complex approach to contemporary issue. Cynthia is co-creator and director of PBS documentary series A CHEF’S LIFE which has just concluded its fifth season and is only one of four food television shows to win a Peabody Award. In 2015, Cynthia received the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for her work on the show.
Cynthia is also director and creator of ROAD TO RACE DAY (executive produced by Peter Berg). Premiering on go90 in 2017 Cynthia’s previous documentary work includes PRIVATE VIOLENCE, which debuted at Sundance, premiered on HBO, and garnered Cynthia an Emmy nomination. She is currently directing a crime documentary that is in development with HBO.
